SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid protein (I292T), His Tag (NUN-C52Hf) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Met 1 - Ala 419 (Accession # QHO62115.1 (I292T)). The nucleocapsid protein is consisted of the N-terminal RNA-binding domain (NTD) and the C-terminal dimerization domain (CTD), divided by a central serine/arginine-rich (SR)-linker responsible for phosphorylation. The N-CTD domain associates with viral RNA through electrostatic interactions and modulate unwinding after entering into the cell. The mutation I292T was identified on the N-CTD of SARS-CoV-2 variants with high frequency (~25%) in the variants circulating in South America (data retrieved from https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33095454/).
